Are you ready to go to the next level with God? Are you looking for something more in your relationship with Him? Do you want your life to impact the lives of others? If your answer is yes, this is the school for you! Discipleship Training School (DTS) exists to help you build a strong foundation with God and to prepare you to share The Fathers love with others.
Whether He has called you to minister in your own city or to explore new paths, this is the place for you. It will give you the opportunity to go into deeper levels of commitment in your faith as He reveals more to you about who He is and who you are in Him.
This school is a great opportunity to get away from the noise and distractions of life and set aside time to consider your calling and engage with God’s heart for you and the world around you. You will have the chance to experience God, unearth your passions and purpose in life, experience new cultures and serve the needs of others. The DTS includes lectures and outreach integrated into a live-learn environment; giving you the opportunity to put your faith into action.

The DTS is not just about developing head knowledge but heart knowledge as you grow closer to God. We are looking for people who have a desire to get to know God in a deeper way, while experiencing more of his heart through his creation, his word, and his people.
This phase consists of lectures taught by varied speakers, small group discussions, one-on-ones with staff, work duties around the campus and corporate worship and prayer.
The lecture topics change weekly covering themes such as :
- God’s Nature and Character
- Identity in Christ
- World Missions
- Hearing God’s Voice
- Father Heart of God...(and more)
From the dusty roads of Burkina Faso to the pyramids of Egypt, get ready to adventure into new places with the gospel of God’s love. You may find yourself bringing music and life to those who have lost hope or dancing in the dirt with those who are unloved. See the sick healed by bringing medical supplies to remote villages in Benin or hear the exciting sounds of children's laughter while doing a gospel based drama in the lively cities of Ghana.
The outreach phase focuses on applying what you learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience. During your DTS you’ll have the opportunity to develop your compassion for the world we live in. It will widen your world view and give you more of a global awareness in order to prepare you to answer Jesus’ call to “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
If you are interested in being involved with Youth With A Mission, the Discipleship Training School is the pre-requisite of your missionary journey with us.
I did my DTS at YWAM Noépé in 2012. I had never heard of Togo before, let alone Noépé but I was invited by a friend of mine from Canada and not knowing what I was going to do with my life, I decided to go.
The Noépé base was a complete culture shock compared to what I was used to back in Canada but it was a good shock. It brought me back to the basics, which is what I needed to do with my relationship with God. When I went to do my DTS I had an idea of who God was but no connection in my heart. Seeing how everyone lived in community and helped each other changed my perspective of Christianity, the people on the base try to live like Jesus. They love each other, they love their unsaved brothers and sisters, and they'd give the clothes off their backs for them.
I became a born again Christian during my DTS and even though it was a difficult time dealing with a lot of changes, my Noépé family were always there for me. They loved me, supported me and guided me on the path to knowing God my Father. When I left Togo after my DTS and went back to Canada I went back to my old way of life and bad habits but nobody back in Noépé judged me, they just loved me and encouraged me back towards God. I returned to Noépé again a few months later and they welcomed me home with open arms.
If you're praying about going to do DTS at the YWAM Noépé base, just know that you'll feel at home as soon as you get there and that everyone there will soon become your family. I pray that you’ll get to experience what I did there, because not a day goes by when I don't think about my home back in Noépé.
